NEWS HEADLINES -
WEDNESDAY 16h JULY 2008

Thank You!
I would like
to thank everyone, players, parents and family friends and
supporters most sincerely for supporting our most successful and
enjoyable Indian Night on July 12th.
Many thanks
to TJ for 'twisting arms' to get the sporting legends to sign
the cricket bat for the raffle.
A big thank
you also to Leeladhar Gumulapurapu (Leela) and his colleagues
for cooking and serving the most delicious food. Leela has
requested that the proceeds of the evening be directed to the
promotion of Youth Cricket in the Club.
The signed
bat was won by Billy Siggins and the following won consolation
prizes: Gillian Johnston, Christine Coleman, Ray Moulton, Leela
and Kenny Carroll.

Bad Cup Sunday for Railway
Railway crashed out
of three Cup Competitions on Sunday last with 2nd X1 going down
by 2 wickets in a low scoring match versus Malahide in Senior 2
Cup. The Women's team being beaten to a more experienced Rush X1
in the Womens Minor Cup and the 5th X1 being beatn by a very
narrow margin in the Minor Cup vesus North Wicklow at Aravon.
We hope that the
Indian Night is not being blamed for all the defeats!
Meanwhile, 4th X1
got back to winning ways by beating Knockharley in a League
match at Park Avenue. Knockharley had been celebrating
themselves so maybe that is the reason that they lost
Under-15's start
Cup campaign on Thursday
Railway play
Pembroke in the 2nd Rd of the Under-15 Cup on Thursday at Park
Avenue, having received a bye in Rd1. Pembroke defeated Leinster,
who were the reigning All-Ireland champions so this match is
eagerly awaited and all support will be greatly appreciated.
Under-13A's beat
Phoenix
After
suffering a number of disappointing results in recent weeks, the
Under-13A bounced back last Saturday to defeat Phoenix in a
nail-biting finish at Park Avenue. Congratulations are also due
to the Under-11 Girls who beat Leinster CC on Tuesday night.
This result augurs really well for the future as Leinster CC
have been at the forefront of Girls Cricket for so long in
Leinster.
